Genjo Sanzo, Son Goku, Cho Hakkai, and Sha Gojyo pick their journey west back up, still working to stop the resurrection of the demon lord Gyoumaoh after the events of Gensomaden Saiyuki. New demon assassins test the group along the road, while old tensions between the four companions start to surface under the pressure. This second TV season continues directly from the first, adapting later chapters of the original manga alongside new material.
