Li Xiang Ying, a young hitwoman for a Taiwanese crime syndicate, survives her own suicide attempt only to wake up with someone else's heart, one that belonged to Kaori Makimura, Ryo Saeba's late partner. Drawn to Tokyo by recurring dreams of Kaori's memories, Xiang Ying tracks down Ryo, now working alone as the sweeper City Hunter, and gradually takes over Kaori's old role at his side. Set in an alternate continuation of the City Hunter timeline, the story follows their new partnership through fresh underworld cases.
