Unlike the self-contained gags of the regular Doraemon manga, this companion series collects full-volume adventures that send Nobita Nobi, Doraemon, and their friends into extended science-fiction and fantasy settings: underwater kingdoms, prehistoric worlds, and other far-flung locations. Each volume became the basis for one of the franchise's annual theatrical films, giving Doraemon's long-form stories a life beyond the pages of CoroCoro Comic.
