Noriko Tachiki is caught in a bomb blast on an ordinary day and comes to in another world, stranded in a forest full of unfamiliar plants and creatures. The swordsman Izark Kia Tarj saves her from a monster and reluctantly lets her travel with him, only for Noriko to learn she is "the Awakening," a being prophesied to rouse the world-ending Sky Demon. Hunted by those who want her captured, the two rely on each other to survive in a land that fears what she might become.
