Thirty years after Tatsuya and Kazuya Uesugi took Meisei High to its only trip to Koushien, stepbrothers Touma and Souichirou Tachibana enroll at the same school carrying a baseball inheritance of their own from their fathers. Touma pitches on raw natural ability and Souichirou catches for him, the steadier of the two and the one who reads the game, while their younger sister Otomi follows the whole thing from the school brass band. The manga follows the battery's first season trying to build a Meisei side capable of getting back to that tournament.
