Synopsis
Jan Akiyama is a cocky teenage chef who inherits his grandfather's decades-old grudge: beat master chef Mutsuju Gobancho. After his grandfather's death he comes to Tokyo to work at Gobancho's Ginza restaurant, insults its cooking on the way in, and runs straight into Kiriko, Gobancho's granddaughter and a formidable cook in her own right. Jan treats every dish as a battle to be won; Kiriko insists food should come from the heart rather than the need to crush an opponent, and that clash drives every meal they cook against each other.
