Synopsis
In a 1907 Kyoto where steam power took hold and electricity never did, Inako Momokawa, the devout daughter of a Fushimi sake brewer, is being pushed into a marriage her father arranged for her. Kihachi Sakamoto, a young man who has no use for gods or buddhas and believes the coming age belongs to electricity, runs off with her, and the one thing that can undo the engagement is a strange book called the Electricity Catalog, which Kihachi filled with inventions as a boy before his older brother Seiroku carried it off. The two set out to find it.
