Synopsis
Rei Ichidou leads a crew of misfit junior-high boys who have banded together as the self-declared Kimengumi, using their gift for absurd stunts and elaborate pranks to survive the daily grind of school life. Alongside fellow members Gou Reietsu and Kiyoshi Deze, and the transfer students Yui Kawa and Chie Uru who fall in with them, the group turns ordinary classroom disputes, rivalries and dares into escalating comic set pieces where nobody, teachers included, stays dignified for long. This original 1980 manga set the template that its sequel, High School! Kimengumi, later carried into high school.
