Synopsis
Perpetual cloud cover has blotted out the sun, oxygen is running out, and the desperate turn to 'floromorphosis', a procedure that converts a person's body into an oxygen-producing plant. Kamiya Toushiro can barely afford his sick mother's medicine, and as poverty tightens its grip in this rigidly stratified society, the transformation starts to look like his only way to keep her alive. His childhood friend Hourai Yomiko, who works within the flower-transformation program, watches as he weighs what he is willing to give up.
