At Star Kids, a foster home for children who don't quite fit anywhere else, a battered junked car sits parked out back: the kids call it Sunny, and climbing inside is the closest thing they have to leaving. Haruo, one of the home's residents, is among the children whose small escapes and quiet grief this stop-motion film follows. It adapts the Sunny manga.
