Oscar and Tinasha come out of the main series as a pair, and this sequel gives them a longer job: nine spellbooks like Elteria are still intact, and destroying them means moving through worlds and lifetimes instead of through one kingdom. The Witch of the Azure Moon and the swordsman king who climbed her tower keep finding each other, losing each other to death, and starting again. It continues Unnamed Memory rather than opening a new entry point.
