Takt Asahina, a piano prodigy who cares about little beyond music, becomes a Conductor after a D2 attack kills his friend Cosette Schneider and awakens Destiny — a Musicart who wields the power of Beethoven's Fifth Symphony. In a near-future America where black meteorites have spawned monsters that hunt sound, music itself has been banned in most cities. Takt, Destiny, and Cosette's older sister Anna set out across the country toward Symphonica headquarters in New York, hoping to stabilize the fragile bond between Conductor and Musicart before it consumes Takt's body.
