Tomoya Aki pours his allowance into games and doujin books, and the light novel series he loves most turns out to be written by Utako Kasumi, the pen name of Utaha Kasumigaoka, the top student a year above him at school. A signing event puts them face to face, and Tomoya ends up as the unpaid first reader Utaha leans on while she stalls on the next volume. This spin-off manga moves the Saekano cast into a continuity of its own, built around Utaha rather than Megumi Katou.
