June 1983 in Hinamizawa normally means Rika Furude and the people closest to her are running out of time. A crew of guest artists takes that same month and plays it for early-summer comedy instead, handing Keiichi Maebara, Rena Ryuugu, Mion Sonozaki and Satoko Houjou the kind of afternoons the village never gets. The volume is an anthology built on the Gou season, so the cast and the premise come from there while the register shifts from gag strips to quieter pieces.
