Shirou Emiya, an amateur mage adopted by the late Kiritsugu Emiya, is pulled into the fifth Holy Grail War when he accidentally summons Saber. Unlike prior encounters, this war darkens fast—a shapeless Shadow begins devouring participants and Servants, and Shirou's quiet classmate Sakura Matou, who has visited his home for months, moves to the center of events as her ties to the Matou mage family surface. Allying with Rin Tohsaka, Shirou fights to protect Sakura while the war's rules collapse around them. This film is the first in a trilogy adapting the third route of the Fate/stay night visual novel.
