Hiroshi Odokawa, a middle-aged walrus and taxi driver, leads a solitary life in Tokyo, his only connections formed through late-night fares and talk radio. His passengers — an attention-hungry college student, a nurse hiding debts to the yakuza, a struggling comedy duo, a local gangster named Dobu — each carry secrets that slowly converge around the disappearance of a high school girl. When evidence ties the missing girl to his cab, both the police and the yakuza close in on Odokawa.
