Machi Amayadori has been the shrine maiden of the mountain village of Kumade all her life, with the talking bear Natsu as her guardian, and at fourteen she wants to try high school in the city. Nineteen mangaka take that setup in their own directions across this single-volume official anthology, each contributing a short comic about Machi, Natsu and the village around them. The pieces do not connect, and the book expects readers to arrive already knowing Kumade.
