Chihayafuru

ちはやふる

Chihaya Ayase falls in love with competitive karuta — a fast-paced card game built on classical Japanese poetry — after her elementary school classmate Arata Wataya, grandson of a former Meijin champion, shows her the game's intensity. Years later in high school, Chihaya recruits childhood friend Taichi Mashima and three new members to form the Mizusawa Karuta Club, aiming to reach the national tournament and face rivals like the reigning Queen, Shinobu Wakamiya.
