R.O.D -READ OR DIE- YOMIKO READMAN "THE PAPER"

Yomiko Readman reads compulsively and substitute-teaches between jobs. Her real work is field duty for the British Library's Special Operations Division under the codename The Paper, which is literal: paper obeys her and folds into blades, shields and wings. The first volume puts her in an Odaiba tower to vet a rare book, The Black Book of Fairy Tales, carried over from Hong Kong by a dealer named Woo, with the mercenary Drake Anderson beside her and Joker running the Division. This light novel line is the original R.O.D, the version the later animation adapted.
