Oriko Mikuni's father, a politician, is brought down by a scandal and takes his own life, and in the aftermath she makes her wish to Kyubey: to learn the purpose of her life. The power she receives as a magical girl is foresight, and what it shows her is more despair, ending in the destruction of Mitakihara City. Determined to change that future, Oriko begins fighting witches and makes friends among the magical girls at her school, among them Kirika Kure, though not always on good terms at first. This series is a prequel to Puella Magi Oriko Magica.
