Baki Hanma, the eighteen-year-old champion of the underground fighting arena beneath the Tokyo Dome, faces a new challenge when five of the world's most dangerous death row inmates break out of their prisons simultaneously. Each convict — Spec, Dorian, Sikorsky, Doyle, and Yanagi — travels to Tokyo with a single obsession: to know the taste of defeat. As the convicts provoke fighters across the city, Baki and his circle of martial artists are drawn into confrontations that test the limits of hand-to-hand combat.
