Meisuke Nueno, the Doumori Elementary School teacher everyone calls Nube, keeps protecting his class from yokai and the occult in the second half of the 2025 series. Part 2 opens with his student Kyoko Inaba waking up as a 26-year-old in a future where her classmates are grown and Nube was left disabled after shielding his pupils fifteen years earlier. Nube works out that an invisible yokai has swapped her between timelines and forces it to send her home, and a second strange spirit soon offers him a chance to undo a regret of his own.
