Cero works part-time at Spirytus, the company that dominates the industry in a society where torture is legal and big business. He spends his cheerful shifts inflicting pain on clients alongside his senior colleague Shiu, and the arrival of fellow part-timers Mikke and Hugh only adds to the relaxed, homey atmosphere of the workplace. Between client sessions, the crew deals with office mix-ups and the occasional in-house assassin, treating gruesome work like any other part-time job.
