Tatsuya and Kazuya Uesugi are twin brothers who grow up beside their childhood neighbor Minami Asakura. Kazuya is the diligent, gifted one, an ace pitcher carrying everyone's hopes toward Koshien, the national high school baseball championship, while easygoing Tatsuya coasts in his shadow. As the three move through adolescence, the question of who will stand on the mound and what Minami means to each brother quietly takes shape.
