You must be at least 13 years old to use mirumiru, or older if the law where you live sets a higher minimum age for using an online service of this kind. If you are 13 or older but under the age of majority where you live, you may use mirumiru only with the knowledge and consent of a parent or guardian.

You may not use mirumiru if we have previously terminated your account, or if you are barred from doing so under applicable sanctions or trade-control laws.

You sign in either with a Google account or with a one-time code sent to your email address. We do not use or store passwords. You are responsible for keeping access to your email account and your sign-in method secure, and for everything that happens through your account.

Your username is public. You may not choose a username that impersonates someone else, infringes a trademark, or is designed to deceive. We may reclaim or change a username in those cases.

If you believe someone else has used your account, email us at [email protected] as soon as you can.

mirumiru is a free platform for tracking, rating, reviewing and discussing anime and manga, and for building a public profile around what you watch and read. Everything described in these Terms is provided at no charge.

Our catalog is compiled from publicly available sources. Some catalog descriptions and genre tags are drafted with the help of AI tools and reviewed by us before publication. Catalog information may be incomplete, out of date or wrong, and it is not authoritative — treat it as a convenience, not a reference.

mirumiru does not host, stream, distribute or link to copies of any anime or manga. It is a catalog and a community, not a source of the works themselves.

You keep ownership of everything you create on mirumiru — your reviews, comments, lists, profile text and any images you upload.

You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, resize and reformat, publish and display that content for the purpose of operating and promoting mirumiru, including in link previews and shareable cards. This licence exists so we can actually show your content to other people; it ends when you delete the content, except for copies already shared by others, copies retained in backups for a limited period, and copies cached by third parties such as search engines.

You confirm that you have the rights to everything you post, and that posting it does not break the law or infringe anyone else's rights.

Most of what you post is public. Your profile, reviews, comments, reactions and favourites can be seen by anyone, including people without an account, and can be indexed by search engines. Your list is public or private according to the list-privacy setting on your profile. Please assume anything public will be seen and may be copied. See What is public in our Privacy Policy for the details.

When using mirumiru, you agree not to:

• break the law, or post content that is illegal where you or we are located;
• harass, threaten, bully or incite hatred or violence against anyone, including on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, gender, gender identity or sexual orientation;
• post sexual content involving minors, or content that sexualizes characters presented as minors;
• post content you do not have the rights to, or that infringes someone's copyright, trademark or privacy;
• impersonate another person, or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone;
• post spam, advertising, malware or links intended to deceive;
• manipulate scores, rankings, trending or reactions — including by running multiple accounts, coordinating votes, or automating activity;
• scrape, crawl or bulk-download mirumiru, or use bots or automated tools against our systems, without our written permission;
• probe, disable or circumvent our security measures or rate limits, or access accounts, data or systems you are not authorised to access;
• reverse-engineer or copy any part of mirumiru except to the extent the law expressly allows it; or
• resell, sublicense or commercially exploit access to mirumiru.

We may remove or hide content, limit access to features, or suspend or terminate an account if we reasonably believe these Terms or the law have been broken, or to protect other users, third parties or ourselves. Where it is practical and lawful to do so, we will tell you why and give you a way to respond.

mirumiru can import a list from MyAnimeList. If you use it, you give us a MyAnimeList profile URL and we read the list entries that MyAnimeList makes publicly visible for that profile. You confirm that the profile is yours, or that you have permission to import it.

We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to MyAnimeList. An import depends on a third party we do not control, so it may be incomplete or fail — please check the result and correct anything that came across wrong.

The mirumiru name, logo, interface, design and software are ours and are protected by intellectual-property law. These Terms do not give you any right to use our branding.

Titles, synopses, cover art, characters, studio and publisher names, and other material relating to anime and manga belong to their respective rights holders. They appear on mirumiru for the purposes of identification, cataloguing, commentary and review. Cover images are served from our infrastructure but remain the property of their rights holders.

If you believe material on mirumiru infringes your copyright, email [email protected] with: identification of the work, the URL of the material, your contact details, and a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised. We remove or disable access to material in response to valid notices, and we may terminate the accounts of repeat infringers.

mirumiru is free. There are currently no paid plans, subscriptions, virtual currency or purchasable items, and we do not process payments or handle card details of any kind.

If we introduce paid features in the future, we will publish the prices, the refund policy and any additional terms before anything can be bought, and buying will always be optional. Our intention is that tracking, rating, reviewing and the social features around them stay free.

mirumiru is early-stage software built by a very small team. We do not guarantee that it will be available, uninterrupted or error-free, and we may add, change, suspend or remove features at any time — sometimes substantially.

Data loss is possible. Please do not rely on mirumiru as the only copy of anything you care about; you can ask us for a copy of your data at any time (see Your rights).

You can stop using mirumiru whenever you like, and you can ask us to delete your account by emailing [email protected]. We delete or anonymize your personal information as described in our Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or terminate your account as described in section 6, or if we discontinue mirumiru — in which case we will give reasonable notice where we can.

Sections 4 (for content already shared), 8, 12, 13 and 14 survive the end of your account.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, mirumiru is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the catalog is accurate or complete, or that the service will be uninterrupted, secure or free of errors.

Reviews, comments and profiles are created by users. They are their authors' opinions, not ours, and we do not endorse them.

Nothing here excludes any warranty or right that cannot be excluded under the law that applies to you.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data or loss of goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of mirumiru.

Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to mirumiru is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim — which, while mirumiru is free, is nil — and (b) CAD $100.

These limits do not apply to liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or under consumer-protection rights that cannot be waived where you live.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. The courts of Ontario have non-exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from them.

This does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer-protection rules of the country where you live, or of your right to bring proceedings in your local courts where the law gives you that right.

We may update these Terms. When we do, we change the "last updated" date at the top of this page, and for material changes we give reasonable notice — in the app or by email — before they take effect.

Continuing to use mirumiru after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not accept them, please stop using mirumiru and ask us to delete your account.

The mirumiru interface is available in English, Spanish and Portuguese. These Terms are published in English only, and the English text is the authoritative version. Any translation provided for convenience does not govern.
