A moody 1948 novelist named Sensei is dragged into a fantasy world after a failed double suicide with his lover Sacchan. Declared an adventurer by a priestess, he must confront the demon king while secretly chasing Sacchan to finish their pact to die together. Joined by Tama, a cat-eared martial artist, and ally Annette, Sensei wields the Storyteller, a power that makes his stories bend reality in a darkly comedic, literary parody of postwar Japan.
