Club membership is mandatory at his school, so a first-year boy ducks into the nearly empty Magic Club room and finds its only member, known to everyone as Sempai, halfway through a trick and well into a disaster. Sempai handles sleight of hand perfectly in private, but stage fright turns any performance with an audience into slapstick. She drafts him as her assistant, and these short episodes follow the two of them keeping the club alive through failed tricks and escaped doves.
