Ninja from the Land of the Sky launch a surprise assault on Konoha, seeking revenge for its attack on their homeland during the Second Great Ninja War. Naruto Uzumaki, Sakura Haruno, and Hinata Hyuga are dispatched to escort a young healer named Amaru and her mentor Shinno back to their ravaged village. Along the way Naruto crosses paths with Sasuke Uchiha, while the Sky ninja's airborne fortress and a chakra-devouring entity called the Zero-Tails turn the escort into something far larger.
