Decades after her adventuring party defeated the Demon King, the elven mage Frieren barely registered the weight of the years that passed. When Himmel, the hero she traveled with for ten years, dies of old age, the grief catches her off guard — she spent a decade beside him without ever truly knowing him. She sets out northward with Fern, Himmel's young apprentice cleric, and Stark, a warrior trained by the party's old fighter Eisen, retracing their old route while learning, finally, to pay attention.
