Shinobu Omiya spent a childhood homestay with the English girl Alice Cartelet, and years later Alice moves to Japan and enrolls at Shinobu's high school. Speaking fluent Japanese and fascinated by the country, the blonde, easily flustered Alice settles in alongside Shinobu, the level-headed Aya Komichi, the boisterous Yoko Inokuma, and fellow transfer Karen Kujo. Days fill with small cultural mix-ups, fawning over blonde hair, and the everyday rhythm of five friends in class.
