Kazuma Hoshino moves from the city to a quiet mountain village with his younger brother Ayumu, who is recovering from poor health, planning to stay at the Yorozuyo inn. Lost on the way through the hills, Kazuma runs into a local girl, Ui Nakatsugawa — and an awkward accidental kiss draws the ire of her fierce protector, Ibuki. Settling into rural life and the family inn, Kazuma's days fill with the village's young women in a comedic countryside slice-of-life.
