In the town of Daikoku, augmented-reality glasses called Den-noh Megane overlay a digital layer onto everyday streets, and the children who wear them treat that cyberspace as a playground. Yuuko "Yasako" Okonogi moves to Daikoku for the summer with her family, bringing along a virtual pet named Densuke left to her by her late grandfather. She soon falls in with other kids who use illegal hacking tools to chase glitches and obsolete spaces, drawing her into the strange corners where the town's digital world bleeds into the real one.
