The Law of Ueki

うえきの法則

Kosuke Ueki, an unflappable eighth-grader, is handed the power to turn trash into trees by his homeroom teacher, the celestial candidate Mr. K. The gift drafts him into the Battle of the Supernatural Powers, a tournament of a hundred junior-high fighters whose winning god becomes ruler of the Celestial World. Joined by his sharp-eyed classmate Ai Mori, Ueki fights not for the prize but to keep that power out of selfish hands.
