Cou, a young sky pirate with the Red Lynx crew, finds a sleeping girl named Ren stowed in his ship's cargo hold. She is an Edel Raid, a being humans prize as a living weapon for the combat power she lends a partner through a process called reacting. When agents of the protection agency Arc Aile come for Ren and an unknown force attacks the ship, Cou's captain charges him with keeping her safe, setting the two toward the Edel Raid homeland of Edel Garden.
