As a child, Mira Konohata promised a playmate she knew as Ao to one day discover an asteroid together. Entering high school, Mira joins the earth sciences club, formed from the merged astronomy and geology clubs, and reunites with Ao Manaka, who turns out to be a girl she had remembered as a boy. Surrounded by fellow club members with their own specialties, the two split their time between stargazing and rock-hunting fieldwork while chasing the childhood goal of finding a star of their own.
