In an alternate 1960s Japan teeming with superhumans, aliens, ghosts, and magical girls, the government's Superhuman Bureau secretly monitors these beings and eliminates those it deems threats. Idealistic agent Jirou Hitoyoshi believes in protecting them, but the series jumps across a shifting timeline to show how he comes to turn against the Bureau. Bones' original anime blends stylish action with political intrigue and a meta-narrative on heroism and justice.
