Toraji Ishida is a broke kendo instructor whose nearly empty high-school club offers little hope, until a former senpai bets him a year of free sushi that his own girls' team can win a match. Scrambling for talent, Toraji meets Tamaki Kawazoe, a small but ferociously skilled kendoka raised at her father's dojo. As he coaxes Tamaki and a handful of other recruits into the club, the mismatched team slowly takes shape around practice, rivalries, and Toraji's stomach.
