Now in their final year of middle school, Takagi keeps finding new ways to fluster her seatmate Nishikata, who still loses every contest he picks with her. Over the summer before the term ends, the two take in a stray kitten they name Hana and look after it together while the question of what comes after graduation hangs over them. This feature film closes out the television series, following Takagi and Nishikata through everyday outings rather than introducing a new story.
