Aoi Yukimura would rather stay indoors and has been afraid of heights since a childhood fall, until she runs into her old elementary-school friend Hinata Kuraue, who is set on climbing again. Hinata talks her into hiking together to recapture a sunrise the two once watched as kids. Around their hometown of Hannou, Aoi slowly warms to the outdoors alongside Hinata and new companions like the experienced upperclassman Kaede and the younger Kokona.
