ひぐらしのなく頃に外伝 猫殺し編

This standalone special, released as a bonus for buyers of the first Higurashi anime's DVD boxes, drops Keiichi, Mion, Rena, Satoko and Rika into a lighter detour through Hinamizawa. After losing a bet, the group parades around town in costume, then wanders out to Yagouchi, an abandoned village nearby, where the legend of a haunted quarry gives Keiichi and Rena something to argue over. It is a side story, not an entry point to the series.
