Himeko Kurusugawa and Chikane Himemiya are classmates at Ototachibana Academy in the town of Mahoroba, unaware that they are the reincarnated solar and lunar mikos. When the eight-headed Orochi of legend stirs once more, their sealed identities awaken and call them to pilot divine mecha against the threat. Himeko's childhood friend Souma Ougami is bound to the Orochi as one of its heads, but turns against his fate to protect her, while Chikane's devotion to Himeko deepens into something fiercer.
