Hiyori, a quiet girl who learned to love fly fishing from her late father, is bracing for an awkward new family after her mother remarries. At the shore she meets the cheerful Koharu Minagi and teaches her to cast, only to discover that night that Koharu is her new stepsister. As the two ease into life under one roof, fishing trips along the coast become the common ground they use to get to know each other.
