Kaori Sawahara is on a seaside vacation in Okinawa with her friends Erika and Aki when fish begin crawling out of the sea on spindly metal legs, driven by a foul "death stench". A call to her fiance Tadashi in Tokyo cuts off mid-attack, and Kaori heads for the city as the walking creatures spread inland and the infection jumps to larger hosts. This OVA adapts Junji Ito's horror manga, reworking the roles so that Kaori leads the outbreak story.
