Bam has spent his whole life shut away beneath an immense Tower, with only a girl named Rachel for company. When Rachel slips through the Tower's door and climbs without him, Bam forces it open himself and becomes an Irregular, someone who enters uninvited by its guardians. On the floors above, Headon sets the first of countless tests, and Bam falls in with fellow climbers Khun and Rak as he chases Rachel upward through a structure where each floor demands everything to ascend.
