In the lawless city of Ergastulum, handymen Worick Arcangelo and Nicolas Brown take on the dirty jobs the four ruling mafia families and the police won't touch themselves. Nicolas is a Twilight, one of the superhuman descendants of a wartime drug whose strength comes paired with a shortened, drug-dependent life. After clearing out a local gang, the pair take in Alex Benedetto, a prostitute with no memory, and her presence begins to draw them into the tensions between Ergastulum's syndicates.
