Tsubaki Hibino starts high school with an old-fashioned look and a knack for styling other people's hair but no confidence in her own. She loses the top spot in class to Kyouta Tsubaki, a boy whose surname is her own given name, and when he needles her about it she snaps and cuts his hair on the spot. Intrigued rather than angry, the popular Kyouta sets his sights on her, pulling the awkward Tsubaki into his orbit as the two slowly grow closer.
