Kii Kogami is coasting through a dull high school routine when a small girl in a frilly dress walks onto campus and begins beating students to death, turning the corpses into shambling zombies. As the slaughter spreads from the school into the city, Kogami runs with a handful of survivors while more of these smiling magical girls appear. What looks like a magical-girl story is a horror survival, and Kogami has no powers and nothing but the next exit to aim for.
