Ryo Narushima is a top student bound for Tokyo University until, with no warning, he murders both his parents. Convicted at sixteen and sent to a juvenile reformatory, he is beaten and brutalized until inmate Kenji Kurokawa, a former revolutionary jailed for an attempted assassination, teaches him karate. The training reshapes Narushima into a cold, calculating fighter who carries that violence out of the reformatory and into the world.
