Touka Scott, a lecherous farmer in the village of Cheza, digs a pit trap to keep demons off his fields, and the hero Sion Bladen falls into it and dies. Sion had just been summoned back to seal away the resurgent Demon King. To cover up the death, the necromancer Anri Haysworth pushes Touka's soul into Sion's corpse and orders him to pose as the legendary hero, leaving a farmer to hold the part together while the demon army stirs.
