Wu Geng is the son of Zhou, the Shang king who refuses to kneel before a messenger of the Heavens. From the capital Zhao Ge, Zhou declares that humanity will no longer serve the gods, and the gods answer with a war of extermination. As the capital falls, Wu Geng's mother draws out her son's spirit to fake his death and hides it in the body of Ah Gou, a slave the prince had once blinded. Waking at the bottom of the world he was born to rule, Wu Geng turns this stolen second life toward bringing down the gods.
